the respiratory system is important because its how air get to the lungs and how the blood gets to the legs and heart and parts. The oxygen goes through the nose or mouth, then first of all the diaphragm contracts then, air goes down the nasal passage if you breath through your nose if you breath from your mouth it goes strate down to the air or food holes. second the air goes down the air hole then down the trachea, to the bronchi through the bronchioles to the alveoli. the alveoli is where the oxygen and carbon dioxide come and go. The oxygen goes from the alveoli to the blood lace and the air goes from the blood lace. Then the oxygen goes into cells and goes to all the body parts to keep them alive and then the diaphragm deflates, then carbon dioxide comes out from the blood lace and comes to the alveoli to the bronchioles then to the bronchi and then to the trachea (windpipe) out of the holes to the nasal passage or mouth the out and the process go on forever until you die.
